Ana Clara Piccolo:

Stitching stories through colour and texture.

Ana Clara Piccolo (anaclara.bordou) is a Brazilian embroidery artist currently based in Vancouver, Canada. Her creative journey with embroidery began as a personal exploration and gradually evolved into a full-time artistic practice rooted in storytelling, colour and texture.

Growing up in a family deeply connected to handmade crafts, Ana Clara was always surrounded by creativity. Fromseamstresses and cooks to woodworkers and painters, the act of making things by hand was a natural part of everyday life. This early influence later led her to study Visual Arts in Brazil, helping to shape her creative foundation and visual language.

In 2016, while living in Germany, she was introduced to embroidery through the YouTube channel Clube do Bordado, whose tutorials became her first guide to stitches and techniques. What started as a way to reconnect with creativity during a period of change quickly became a passion and a daily practice.

Since then, embroidery has become her main artistic language. Working primarily with free-hand embroidery, she creates contemporary pieces that combine narrative, colour exploration and intricate stitch work. Her creations range from original designs to bespoke commissions, often inspired by personal experiences, cherished memories and everyday observations.

Over the years, Ana Clara has created more than 250 embroidered pieces and built an organic community of more than 58,000 followers on Instagram, where she shares her creative process, inspirations and behind-the-scenes of her work.

Her journey has also led to meaningful collaborations, including eight embroidery patterns and four embroidery kits created in partnership with Anchor. These projects are particularly meaningful to her, as they connect her personal practice with a brand she has used and admired for years.

Creating colour palettes is one of Ana Clara's favourite parts of the creative process. She enjoys
exploring unexpected colour combinations and finding new ways to bring depth and personality to
her embroidery using Anchor Stranded Cotton threads.

Today, Ana Clara continues to create work that aims to connect with people on an emotional level, preserving memories, celebrating meaningful moments and transforming them into stitched keepsakes meant to be treasured.
