Rachael Watson is the owner and founder of @RoseStitchArt, an embroidery design business based in Leicester, England. Her love of embroidery began as a child, when her grandma taught her tostitch. Years later, she picked up a needle and thread again and began creating her own designs, eventually turning her creative hobby into RoseStitchArt in 2021.
For Rachael, embroidery is much more than a craft. She loves the slow, mindful nature ofstitching and the sense of achievement that comes from watching a design develop onestitchat a time. She sees embroidery as a way to switch off from everyday pressures, slow down and make time for yourself.
Her designs are inspired by nature, the changing seasons and the little moments of joy in everyday life. She often finds inspiration while out walking with her dog, as well as through seasonal trends and the things people love to celebrate and gift. Alongside nature-inspired designs, Rachael particularly enjoys creating patterns that can be personalised with names, dates and other meaningful details, allowing people to create something unique for special occasions.
Through Rose Stitch Art, Rachael hopes to encourage more people to discover the calming and rewarding nature of embroidery. Her aim is to create approachable designs that invite people to slow down, get creative and enjoy the simple rhythm of stitching.
The name Rose Stitch Art was inspired by the feelings Rachael associates with roses — peace, comfort and quiet reflection. These are the same feelings she hopes to bring to her embroidery designs and to the experience of sitting down to stitch them.
Rachael is excited to be collaborating with Anchor and bringing her love of mindful stitching, nature-inspired design and creativity to this project."
