Tânia is a lawyer, writer, knit instructor and designer. She's the smile behind Bola de Pêlo Criações! She has partnered with MEZ Crafts Portugal and MEZ Fabra to create a beautiful knit baby blanket made entirely with Anchor Baby Pure Cotton, that we now share with you. In this interview, you'll get to know her a little better!*

Which city in the world would you want to live in?

My own Coimbra, full of charm, no doubt! However, Santorini (Greece) or Venice (Italy) could be very happy alternatives too! (Maybe one day!)

Where do you find happiness?

Happiness is a state of mind and you find it along the way, at every turn. So, I find happiness in everything I do with love: in my creative studio - where magic happens - in my workshops, where I get to interact with the real people who follow my work on social networks - on walks by the seaside or in the woods - where Nature embraces and energizes me - in the wonderful moments I spend with those I love and are dear to me, in a warm and aromatic tea in the late afternoon, in a poem that my pen scribbles on a sheet of paper, and so many others!

What is your favourite colour?

Colour, intrinsically linked to emotions, is something that inspires me a lot and has always inspired me! So, my colour is ... the rainbow, the whole palette, to colour the beautiful journey that is life!

How has knitting changed your life?

It changed it in so many ways! It made me a passionate creator and a professional designer, taught me a magical way to get to know me better, to reconnect to my origins and ancestors. It made me more patient and resilient because I see it as a perfect metaphor for life itself, with advances and setbacks, built row by row, with a multitude of possibilities (of colours, textures and drawings), from which the most incredible and wonderful dreams are woven.

How was the experience of working with Anchor Baby Pure Cotton?

The thread is absolutely delicious to the touch, it is very nice to work with, allows an incredible highlight of the textured spots and has a beautiful colour palette of pastel shades. It is undoubtedly one of my favourite yarns, especially for delicate baby clothes!

Tânia’s Recipe of Choice

Coconut Balls

•             200 gr schreded coconut

•             100 gr coconut flour (works with all-purpose flour, spelt flower or oat flour)

•             150 gr coconut sugar (or other)

•             1 teaspoon of baking powder

•             9 Eggs

Preparation:

1) Place all the ingredients, in the order listed above, in a bowl and stir well, mixing them, until incorporated and the dough is thick and smooth.

2) Place paper cups on a tray. Make small balls with the dough and place them in the paper cups.

3) Bake them in the oven, preheated to 180ºC, for 15 to 20 minutes.

4) Allow to cool then serve with delicious tea, coffee or glass juice.
