Indoor Garden by Dee Hardwicke
Dee Hardwicke is an artist, designer and knitter with a highly diverse portfolio, ranging from tableware, stationery, and hand knit designs, to stylish mats and contemporary flooring. Inspired by a love of the British landscape and steeped in the artisan tradition of the Arts & Crafts movement, Dee trained in the fine arts, studying painting and sculpture.
Always with a sketchbook to hand, Dee records the details and colours that catch her eye throughout the seasons. Her watercolours, along with leaves and flowers that she collects to turn into templates, are then translated into stunning motifs. Dee’s designs celebrate the beauty of the natural world, and she finds endless inspiration in Britain’s wild landscapes and historic gardens. This passion is reflected in the new Dee Hardwicke Anchor embroidery collection, as well as throughout Dee’s other collaborations within the Mez family, from her versatile seasonal palette of Felted Tweed yarns for Rowan, to Regia’s colourful sock yarns.
Dee explains, ‘nature puts colours together so well and in such perfect proportions that I really do find inspiration whenever I step outside’.
Now Anchor’s latest embroidery collection - Indoor Garden by Dee Hardwicke - features 18 stunning designs based on her watercolour paintings of flowers, plants, and butterflies.
The collection is divided between patterns and kits, all inspired by natural elements and painted in delicate colours that will bring the beautiful outdoors into your home in a subtle way.
The stylized patterns were created for both cross-stitch and freestyle embroidery and work perfectly together. You can mix and match to create your own style and decorate your home in your way. They are perfect for either hanging on the wall or used on placemats and cushions.
All 10 patterns are compiled in Anchor by Dee Hardwicke Indoor Garden Magazine to be distributed in stores, as well as available for purchase and immediate download on Anchor Crafts Website.
All 6 kits feature exclusive designs only available in stores. They are worked in both cross-stitch and freestyle embroidery stitches on Aida cloth or printed linen fabric, respectively, and come with plenty of thread to complete, together with needle and full instructions.
These designs were created with the experienced crafter in mind who is on the lookout for new and exciting ideas and ready to create an amazing piece of art.
